Captain America Civil War (Spoiler Free)

May 10, 2016 | ZacHanson

Given that Captain America Civil War has only been out for a few days a lot of you might not have seen it yet, some of you might not even be interested in seeming it.  If you are on the fence let me tell you now it's great!

The story is about a conflict between the UN and the Avengers.  After yet another even with collateral damage the UN tells the Avengers they either work for them, or they become criminals.  Iron Man agrees and Captain America walks.  Don't let the movie title mislead you, Captain America Civil War is really the next Avengers film, and in my opinion it is the best Avengers movie yet!  The story takes the right amount of time as it work towards each epic superhero showdown, and gives justifucation for each conflict as the battles ratchet up to the films climax.

If you are a fan of the original Civial War comic story line you might be disappointed, but at the same time you probably figured out a long time ago that the majority movie goers are not following the unending plot lines, alternate universes and theoretical battles that crowd the shelves of comic book stores… nor would Marvel benefit from high lighting the death of Black Goliath, unmasking Petter Parker or sending Steve Rogers to prison.

Civil War can’t help but benefit from the contrast that it has against Batman VS Superman. Not only the fact that Batman VS Superman fell flat on it’s face for Fans and critics alike but also that fact that Civil War is a genuinely good movie.  Batman VS Superman felt dark and pointless and self inflicted, Civil War felt inevitable and endearing and purposefilled.  I wasn’t anticipating a new Captain America film with batted breath, but after this I can’t help but be excited for what is to come next.

We saw it Friday and love it. So happy marvel and Sony worked something out so Spider-Man could be in the movie. Now, we just have to fight for the rights of X-Men so they don't have to say Scarlet Witch got her powers from Vision *eyeroll*

And by "we have to fight for the rights" I mean they. Marvel has to fight for X-Men.

If only you had posted this sooner,...I was one of the fence sitters.  (We had seen the trailer.)  It's $5 Tuesday at our local theatre and the tickets are all but sold out.  (I refuse to sit in the front.)  Hopefully it will still be playing after we get back from Tulsa.  Thanks for the review! :)

I LOVED the movie so, so much! My son and I are avid Captain America fans,  and my other son  loves Iron Man. And we all loved the movie. They really brought all the recent and upcoming marvel movies together in a great way.

Haven't seen it yet, but it's on the list and thank you for the review (without spoilers!). I may not have "fit" it in so my hubby is fine with me driving to Oklahoma for a week. :D

I'm probably bias but Marvel overall knows how to make good movies compared to DC. They've been successful in this and I have higher hopes for this movie over Superman/Batman. Heard nothing but good things.

One of the best entertainment of the year and the large market that has become "comic book heroes of movies." Recomendadissimo film, especially for those who, as a child, had the dream of seeing on the big screen the memorable clashes between the great heroes of the HQ.

Overall, I liked more Spiderman hahaha ... sorry, but it has always been my favorite, but this time I think I found the tone of the character and especially the actor.

Babysitters are expensive, I let my husband go alone.  He was nervous but ended up liking it.

I have heard nothing but great things about it. Cannot wait to see it!

Same it Friday and loved it. The best part was Spiderman, haha. My only complaint was that it felt kinda long. Which wouldn't nor ally bother me but I was really tired. Haha. Highly recommended!

I was half expecting this review to start with "The only way to have Captain America and Iron Man fight each other is to make them into people they are not." :)

I think those two characters have been at odds since the first Avengers films, so this feels more natural than Superman vs. Batman.

But Zac, you didn't answer one important question: Are you Team Cap or Team Iron Man?

The review sounds great. Definitely a movie I want to see. :)

Not so much a fan of that whole genre...but my husband is...and he has plenty of time to see as many movies as his heart's content while overseas.  I'll pass along your review.  He definitely definitely made a point to tell me just how disappointed he was with Batman ((again-not like I care so much--but I'm good at letting on like I do ;0 )
