GRAND RAPIDS, MI, May 20, 2020 – Due to continuing concerns about community health and wellbeing caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, the Grand Rapids Symphony is cancelling its 2020 D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops and all other Symphony events scheduled through July 31, including a Patriotic Pops concert. That concert was to be held July 14, 2020 at Ah-Nab-Awen Park, adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. Patriotic Pops will now be rescheduled for July 14, 2021.
“Our highest priority has been to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of every member of the Grand Rapids Symphony family and Western Michigan community,” said Grand Rapids Symphony President and CEO Mary Tuuk. “While our currently planned July concerts are cancelled, we are thrilled to be able to give the gift of music back to the Western Michigan community in August in innovative ways.”

It is the middle of July and outside...it didn’t need to be cancelled. So depressing.

I was so excited for this one. I'm glad we get to know somewhat early before the event date, if that's any silver lining. I truly hope String Theory will continue on after this pandemic has passed.

I knew this was gonna happen, but it still makes me sad. I'm glad I didn't buy my daughter a ticket yet! And Ticketmaster seems to be doing refunds without a problem.

Me and my bestie almost got tickets but changed our minds. So sad for my friends that got tickets and can no longer go though and all who were planning to go as well.
