Jul 29, 2016 | HANSON
This has been another week focused on planning and general behind the scenes activities. Everything from studio cleaning and maintenance to having conversations with potential producers for upcoming projects. We are working to make 2017 a real celebration of our band turning 25. Speaking of our 25th, last week we asked Hanson.net members to pick their top 25 HANSON songs and the results to date have been, well, surprising. Some songs you might expect to be popular like Where's The Love or Underneath have not even made it to the top 25 overall songs picked and no single song has been on more than 60% of submissions. Once voting is complete, it will be fun to compare our lists to all of yours and see how that might affect coming projects and things like what we play on tour in 2017. Thank you for over two decades of shared moments, music, and love. With any luck, we can keep it going till at least 2042.
Isaac, Taylor and Zac

I legit just went through an picked the ones I'd listen to over and over and then I went from there. Turns out my top 25 are the ones I absolutely love.
Hmm I'd like to know what Hanson's top 25 are maybe...a comparison after the fact?!

Oh no! Underneath didn't make it?! That is surprising! I love that song and I included it on my top 25 list. I hope you guys decide to play it anyways. And like Beverley said, It was the hardest having to pick only 25 songs. You have too many awesome songs.
I'm so excited about the next Hanson year which for me starts very early since I'm going to BTTI2017 Yay! :-)

"Where's the Love" didn't make it?! Aww. That's the song that made me think, "Oh, they can do more than just that "MmmBop" thing" and got me interested in hearing what else they had to offer.
It's a damn, damn, shame.

Oh my god I love underneath I just can't remember if I picked it.... That's like the competitions where no one votes for a certain person cause they are sure to win but not the case.... Was kinda thinking this could be a bad idea picking them as I love the surprise at concerts hearing songs I wouldn't usually play.

It's always possible that those songs will move up before voting ends, but so far the list isn't exactly what we expected.

This was so, so hard! My top 25 live is so different from my top 25 recorded and not knowing exactly what this is for...it made picking the right songs very difficult! I went with an even split between some of my favorite songs to hear at a show and my favorites to just lay back and listen to at home...just to be safe! Super excited for the results and reguardless of how it turns out, i'll be happy because luckily Hanson is the only band I know that doesn't have a single song that I don't like!

This has fascinated the data analyst in me - "no single song has been on more than 60% of submissions".
I'm actually really curious about the results for the entire list of songs. (Once a data analyst, always a data analyst. hehe)
Looking forward to seeing the end results and your lists!
Thank you guys!

Honestly you guys could probably poll us again in a year and find that some of the lower ranked songs this time are higher and everything is flipped around. It's true for me, anyway. I definitely go through phases where I love a random song I never thought much about, or I stop listening to one that used to be a favorite. I think it's the consequence of having so much good music to choose from.

I know I voted really thinking about what I would suggest to someone to show them why Hanson shouldn't be defined by just MMMBop. (So guess what DIDN'T make it into my list?)

First and foremost, I am taken and moved, by the fact that you ask our opinions on stuff..really speaks volumes.
The voting was fun, but a challenge, do only to the fact, I am narrowing down a bunch of songs when I honestly love them all and whereas, speaking for myself, some of my absolute top of the list favorites never change and are imbedded in my head and heart and every time I listen to them, it speaks to me and brings me to a special place.. but there are also times, I go through phases and changes where some songs I can't get enough of and then for months another one takes its place and is on my tops list.
I am very excited to hear your favorites list, and to compare notes..that will be awesome.

"no single song has been on more than 60% of submissions"
that's down to 59% now lol - the data changes with every member that votes - who knows where it will end up by Aug 10th

not sure and not my decision, but I'm sure we'll pass on some of the facts/stats

I think where's the love and underneath we're not chosen very often might be due to the fact that in general us fans may take those songs for granted assuming that they will always be played or that the guys know how well like those songs are simply because they are Staples within the community. Now that I know those two songs were not picked often (I know I didn't choose them) I feel like I've taken them for granted. Someone else was talking to me about this and they had mentioned that their results of what they would have chosen would vary depending on what the list was for. Tour? Recording? Unfortunately when you have people just choose 25 songs they are going to choose what is resounding in them currently, not necessarily what they would like to see on stage or re-recorded, etc. If our guys would have asked the question more specifically, on what the songs we're going towards ie: World tour, MOE concert, Snippets into a documentary, etc... I think the list would vary for each one per person. Also this gives the guys a better insight and perhaps a deeper understanding that what them and their staff may think of the fans, and the reality of what the fans think or feel can be completely different. I think that is why it's important for the guys to do more pills so they can get a deeper and better and more of a thorough understanding of where the fan base is at, and what they can do on a marketable level as well.

You're welcome Hanson but I must say it was the hardest thing I ever done trying to pick only 25 songs I would have picked all of them :)
