Today we are not only getting a day closer to the Fall Underneath:Experience Tour and Underneath:Complete release, we are also sharing a new song from the upcoming release, the song Pink Moon. Layered into the folklore of the Underneath album and now further solidified by the new Penny & Me (Moonlight Version), the song Pink Moon and the artist Nick Drake who authored it represent a deeper inspiration which influenced the shape and tone of that important album.
As we were stepping into the Underneath album, we were discovering a whole wave or artists who were incorporating intimacy and acoustic arrangements with layered metaphor and special arrangements all of which influenced the writing and creation of the eventual album. Some artists came long before our time like the tragic but brilliant Nick Drake and his iconic Pink Moon album. Others were emerging in real time like Travis, Coldplay, David Grey, David Mead and even Matthew Sweet. All of these layered inspirations made their way into the headspace of the final album which you heard on Strong Enough To Break, Believe, Broken Angel, Misery, When You’re Gone, Lulla Belle and Penny And Me.
We’re excited about the upcoming release and tour and we are proud to finally share a rendition of the haunting track Pink Moon which sets a tone for a whole world of sonic movement. We hope you enjoy the tune and we look forward to sharing the whole album coming up in October both through the release and the concerts which are taking us all over North America.
Pink Pink Pink Pink, Pink Moon.
Thanks for listening.
