Hanson im Z7 in Pratteln

Zwischen London, Paris und Mailand schoben Hanson kurzfristig ein Konzert im Dreiländereck, in der Konzertfabrik Z7 in Pratteln, ein. Fans, die schon seit dem frühen Mittag vor der Halle campieren und dem Tourbus auflauern, sind zwar gemeinhin eher ein Symptom der Kategorie gut
vermarktete Fließbandkünstler - ungerecht wäre es doch, die Band deshalb in diese Schublade zu stecken. Oder stecken zu lassen.

Isaac, Taylor und Zac, drei Brüder im Alter von 19 bis 24 Jahre aus dem US-Bundesstaat Oklahoma, arbeiten hart daran, sich in der Musikszene als ernstzunehmende Alternative Rockband zu etablieren und sich ihres Teenieband-Images zu entledigen, das seit Mitte der 90er an ihnen klebt, dem sie aber nie so recht entsprechen wollten, ebenso wenig den rein kommerziellen Erwägungen. Was vor zwei Jahren schließlich zum Bruch mit dem Plattenfirmengiganten und zur Gründung eines eigenen Independent Label, 3CarGarage Records, führte. Die früheren Songs, selbst "MMMBop", verleugnen sie keineswegs, sondern machen sie, teilweise neu und unverkennbar härter interpretiert, zum festen Bestandteil ihrer atmosphärisch dichten und energiegeladenen
Konzerte, bei denen sich die meisten Konzertbesucher vom ersten Klang an mitreißen lassen.

Auch in Pratteln spannen Hanson bei der Auswahl der Titel einen weiten und letzten Endes schlüssigen Bogen von den ersten musikalischen Gehversuchen wie "River" bis hin zu den aktuellen Songs "Penny and me" oder "Lost without each other". Die Band präsentiert sich in guter Laune, selbstbewusst und bleibt auch bei technischen Pannen souverän und improvisationsfähig, da mag die Trommel kippen, das Mikrofon ein Eigenleben entwickeln oder die Stromzufuhr ausfallen - notfalls wird einfach a capella weitergesungen.

Hanson haben in den vergangenen Monaten mehrere CDs veröffentlicht, darunter "Underneath", das neue Studioalbum, das es in den USA an die Spitze der Independent Billboard Charts geschafft hat. An der breiten
Öffentlichkeit ging dies weitgehend unbemerkt vorbei und die Band bleibt zumindest vorerst noch ein Geheimtipp, den es zu beobachten lohnt.

On their way between London, Paris and Milan, Hanson put in a concert in the corner of the three countries France, Switzerland and Germany, in the Z 7 concert factory. Fans hanging around right next to the venue even hours before the show and waiting for the tour bus to arrive, usually
are a symptom of the category "well commercialized assembly line artist" - but it would be unfair to put the band into this category. Or rather to let them get stuck in it.

Isaac, Taylor and Zac, three brothers at the age of 19 to 24 from the US state of Oklahoma, are working hard these days to establish themselves as a serious alternative rock band in the music business and to get rid of the image of a teenie band that sticks on them since the middle of the
90s, an image they never really wanted to correspond to, nor those pure commercial considerations. This led to the break with their big label and to the foundation of their
own independent label, 3 Car Garage Records. They don't deny their early songs, not even "MMMBop", but instead make them, partly new and unmistakably harder in performance, a steady part of their atmospherically
thick and energetic concerts in which most of the people are carried away from the very first moment.

In Pratteln as well, Hanson draw a wide and conclusive line from the first musical steps like "River" to the latest songs as "Penny and me" and "Lost without each other". The band presents itself in best mood, self-confident and stays able to command the situation and to improvise with
difficulties, no matter if the drums tilt, the microphone seems to develop a life beyond control, or even if the electricity fails - if needs be they just go on singing a capella.

Hanson have released several CDs in the last couple of months, among them "Underneath" the new studio album, which was on top of the Independent Billboard Charts in the USA. A fact that somehow went unnoticed by the
main public, so the band - at least for the time being - remains a secret tip, but one that is worth watching.
