First Good Cover Of MMMBop!

Jun 23, 2016 | ZacHanson

MMMBop was inspired by 50 vocal groups but done, but fuzed with a more motown aprotch, this cover takes MMMBop and says "What If"

One of my favorite things about hearing them do this to our music is it ilistrates how you can take the same parts and re arange them and have a totally different song.  Enjoy!

These guys are amazing! It made me want to put on a poodle skirt, bobbie socks and jive! Wouldn't you know it, the smallest guy had the deepest voice! Lol!

They did a fantastic job and it really is do wop style. I have to agree that it's one of the best cover's of the song I have heard and it is something that even my non-Hanson (shockingly) like as well.  :)

@Terrie - I agree! The smallest guy belted out the deepest parts which was unexpected.

I always love hearing what Postmodern Jukebox does with songs! I was sooo excited when I woke up to see/hear this one! (Their cover of Creep by Radiohead would have to be my other favorite, it's eerily beautiful.)

I absolutely love it!  In my family, along with my 5 siblings being my parents children..another words being brought up with parents, especially a Mom who totally loves this kind of music...my family is gonna so love this!! My whole family loving and singing along to a Hanson original..a dream come true! This is awesome!!! Nothing compares to the original..but in my family..if this is what it takes for them to get on the Hanson bandwagon..it's all good!! <3

Doo Wop MMMBop!  Fantastic!  That could have been played on Happy Days and it would have fit right in...  It illustrates just how timeless that little song is...  Thanks for posting, Zac!

Can we start campaigning for them to make an appearance at next year's bigger and better Hanson Day anniversary celebration?

Knowing how far back in time Hanson's own musical roots stretch, I'm not at all surprised that this is what it took for the guys to endorse an MMMBop "cover" (I think it is technically still a cover even though, as Z said, it's interpreted in a totally new-old way). So good!!

This is great! To be completely, I thought The Vamps were exceptional too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG9522I9_ZY

Glad that you saw the video. :) It put a smile on my face and I am not surprised that you like it too :)

The vocal register of that guy on the left is so awesome! So high and so low :)

robinbond: I get you... the Vamps version felt to me like they were trying to do "MMMBop" but failing to sing the chorus right, where as this reinterprets MMMBop in a way that they are able to take creative license with melody, under the guides of style.

Every time I sing along to the chorus I think - "nailed it!" - in reality I'm probably butchering it hahaha

I can imagine it's a very difficult song to cover.

Oh man I love Post Modern Jukebox!!! We saw them last time they came through Atlanta and they were amazing! Not gonna lie, I was totally hoping they would cover a Hanson song.
