Many of the locations listed will be running specials and discounts for Hanson.net members during HANSON Day weekend, so keep an eye on your guide while you're in town. TULSA HISTORY
We obviously love Tulsa! Not only is it our hometown and the place where we started playing music, but it’s also home to incredible history and beauty. Incorporated in 1898, Tulsa was originally part of Indian Territory settled by Creek tribes.
Over the course of Tulsa’s history, it has been known as the “Oil Capitol of the World,” “The Birthplace of Route 66,” and called “America’s Most Beautiful City” by Time Magazine in the 1950’s.
One of the many things we love about Tulsa is the history of great music & musicians - from Woody Guthrie to Leon Russell.
CONCERT VENUE
Built in 1924 The Cain’s Ballroom has gone from a garage, a dime-a-dance joint and a dancing academy until it became the concert venue that it is today. Cain’s Ballroom has its place in music history as the Home of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys with the front man, Bob Wills, being known as “The King of Western Swing”. Cain’s Ballroom holds a special place in the world of touring musicians, with its long history it has played host to everyone from Les Paul, and Hank Williams, to the Sex Pistols and yes HANSON, and everyone in between. Say Tulsa to almost any touring musician and they will likely recall their good, bad and wild times at Cain’s.

All members attending the May HANSON Day Weekend will need to register on arrival. To start the weekend off right, all members will receive a HANSON Day 2025 Wristband needed for access to all the MOE Specials and the HANSON Concert and Activities.

GOLDEN DRILLER. TITANIC OIL MAN

“The Golden Driller” is reportedly the largest free-standing statue in the world. He is 76 feet tall, so high that he rests his right hand atop an actual production oil derrick. Built of iron and concrete, he weighs nearly 22 tons and is expected to survive 200 mph tornadoes. He was declared Oklahoma's official state monument in 1979, and the plaque at his base dedicates him "to the men of the petroleum industry who by their vision and daring have created from God's abundance a better life for mankind." -Roadside America
