They’re back; the brothers Hanson. The used to entertain us with poppy tunes such as Mmmbop and Where’s the love, but now they are shorthaired and rocking dudes with an attitude. They have a new album out and they visited us in our office!

Family

Toward the end of the ‘90s the brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac stormed the world with their mega hit Mmmbop. The three bothers are from a big family with seven children. Isaac is the oldest and takes care of the guitar play and the singing. Taylor the middle brother is the lead singer and plays the piano. Zachary the youngest of the bunch plays drums and -- of course -- sings along. The boys are from Tulsa but also lived in Trinidad, Ecuador and Venezuela with their entire family.

Church

Isaac has been treated for a blood clot in his arm in 2003. Luckily it wasn’t severe and he can now play guitar again. Isaac, as the guitarist of the band, of course owns a lot of guitars. He named all his guitars after ex-girlfriends. Taylor Hanson married Natalie in June 2002 and they had a baby son on October 3, 2002. The guys don’t hide their love for the Lord: Every Sunday you’ll find them in church.

Film

Director Gus van Sant (Drugstore Cowboy, My own Private Idaho, Good will hunting) loves the brothers Hanson. He already directed a video for the brothers, but he would like to make a movie about the guys. Until now they haven’t managed to get together for it. Maroon 5, Avril Lavigne and Aerosmith are fans of Hanson and show their love for the guys regularly in the media.

Video

For their new video Penny & Me they choose Samaire Armstrong to play "Penny". She is Anna Stern from the series The O.C. The brothers liked Samaire and definitely wanted her for the video. She’s the one who could really "be" Penny.

Famous

When the brothers first became "famous" Zachary (Zac) was only seven years old. That’s why Zac never went to public school but has always been privately tutored. In 1992 they played on stage for the first time in Oklahoma.

Record company

Their new album Underneath has been released on 3CG Records. This is Hanson’s own record company, which they set up when no other record company wanted to have them. The album Underneath which they released themselves, hit the higher regions of the American album charts immediately.

Albums

Hanson made the following albums: Underneath (2004), This Time Around (2000), Live from Albertane (1998), Three Car Garage, Indie Recordings (leftover tracks 1995-1996), Snowed In (Christmas album 1997), Middle of Nowhere (1997), Boomerang (1995)
