In 1997, a trio of blond haired teenagers from Tulsa had every young girl screaming and singing Mmmbop. Things have changed in the years since Hanson hit the music scene. The guys have grown up, one of them is married, and they are making more mature music.
Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson released the album Middle of Nowhere at the apex of the grunge music heyday, bringing upbeat pop to the mainstream again. Their second album wasn't the blockbuster the first one was, but they continued writing and working toward their long-awaited third album, Underneath.
The CD is being released on an independent label, which offered the young men more creative control. Hanson's resurgence in popularity can be attributed to their original fans that find that their tastes in music have matured along with them. The band tours the United States and even offers local bands an opportunity to open for them. Hanson is not what it used to be - it's better - and Underneath is proof.
