Now at the ripe old ages of 24, 21 and 19, Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson are veterans of the music industry, with their own record label and a new pop/rock sound on latest album Underneath.
The middle Hanson, 21-year-old Taylor, even has a two-year-old son.
In Melbourne for their sold-out acoustic show at the Hi-Fi Bar last night, the brothers told The Eye their fans were now more likely to be uni students in their 20s than the screaming teens we saw at the height of Hansonmania.
But rather than see their child stardom as a burden, Isaac (who turned 24 yesterday) said they counted themselves lucky to have such a breadth of music experience.
"It was hard for people to take us truly seriously when our drummer (Zac) was 11 years old," he laughed.
"We're just people who started early. We've been a band for 13 years. We've been a band on the world stage for seven years.
"Not all of us are even in our 20s yet, but we own our own record company and we truly own our own future."
The trio parted ways with their old record company two years ago.
And they've shaken off their teeny-bopper past, teaming up with some impressive rock musicians for the new album, such as Matthew Sweet and Gregg Alexander from the New Radicals.
They're also big fans of Aussie rockers Jet.
"That record (Get Born) has got a lot of diversity to it," Isaac said.
The band hopes to return to Australia in March.
