InsideVandy.com: Hanson to play in bookstore tomorrow

Oct 27, 2009 |

Tomorrow at 1:45 p.m. the pop band Hanson will perform a short concert in the Vanderbilt Bookstore. They will play a set of three acoustic songs and then sign books and CDs for fans.

Hanson will walk one mile from Belmont University to the Vanderbilt University bookstore at 1 p.m. It will take approximately 45 minutes for the band and their expected crowd of 150-200 followers to make it on foot to Vanderbilt, Phil Goins, general books manager for the bookstore, said.

The one-mile walk is part of their campaign to raise awareness of poverty and AIDS in Africa.

It is free and open to the public. Goins said he did not know how many people to expect and that it would be standing room only.
