Hit 24 (Germany)
Feb 02, 2005 |
With "MmmBop" Hanson scored a global hit at the end of the 90s - and this already at the young age of 12, 15 and 17. They made it on the cover of every teen magazine and got awards by the dozen. But suddenly the young kids from Oklahoma disappeared from the public eye.
Now the Hanson brothers are back, grown up and with lots of good music in store. Exclusive and live in the show "Soundcheck" with host Steven Gätjen.
Isaac (24), Taylor (21) and Zac (19) frankly talk about their brotherly love, their fans and their career. They are presently on tour to introduce their new album "Underneath" which will be available at the end of February. "It's been three years of hard work in the studio", they tell Steven, "we had written 80 songs and chose only 13 of them."
The result is something you don't want to miss, it is best of American mainstream Pop/Rock. "We wanted to give something special to the fans", they say and that is why they have given up the major label to promote it. Instead they founded a small record company of their own, 3CG, to be finally in the position to achieve their own way. On their latest acoustic tour, their feeling for easy-going melodies and spirited rock riffs filled US critics and fans alike with enthusiasm.
Those who want to bridge the waiting period until the release of the album "Underneath", should really watch Isaac, Taylor and Zac performing live in the "Soundcheck" show: Hanson unplugged -with "Deeper", an excellent guitar based pop song, and "Penny & Me", a song with catchy tunes that might become a hit.
Hanson acoustic -- a convincing song session in "Soundcheck".
