Hanson Walks--Raising Money for AIDS
Apr 22, 2008 |
A decade ago, indie rock group Hanson was selling millions of records to an army of fans, most of whom were teen and pre-teen girls.
Monday, the three brothers from Tulsa walked barefoot thought downtown Rochester--raising money for children in poverty around the world--with a focus on those most affected by AIDS in Africa.
Hanson still brings out fans on tour and, at every tour stop, brothers Isaac, Zac, and Taylor invite fans along for a walk.
The brothers have their own label now, and say they enjoy the independence.
So, it made sense for them to play Monday at the new location of Rochester’s independent record store--Record Archive.
Just teens themselves when they first rose to fame, the brothers are now married and fathers or fathers-to-be.
With their walks, they hope to influence loyal fans to help change the world.
