HANSON to appear on NBC’s Deal or No Deal January 24, Announce Taking the Walk Docu-series

New York, NY...HANSON will appear on NBC’s hit game show Deal or No Deal on Wednesday, January 24 at 8pm. The show, hosted by Howie Mandel, has contestants deal for a top prize of $1 million dollars. NBC arranged for Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson to make a "surprise" appearance on the show after learning their contestant, Jackie Monroe, is a huge HANSON fan.

HANSON are preparing for the release of their 4th studio album The Walk on May 22nd on their own 3CG Records label. The rollout of the album is preceded by free podcasts of the docu-series Taking the Walk about the making of the album, including their trip to record in Africa and their commitment to play an active role in combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The weekly episodes will be available for free download via iTunes beginning Monday, February 26 leading up to the album’s release.

The podcast stream was made available on Jan 15th and debuted as the #1 artist podcast on itunes. Leading up to the new episodes the public can view teasers of Taking the Walk along with free podcasts of the band’s critically celebrated documentary Strong Enough to Break. In an environment of corporate consolidations the documentary chronicles the band’s struggles with their major record label and their decision to go independent. The film was honored at the 2006 Hollywood Film Festival and is now part of the music business curriculums of USC, NYU, and other universities. This is the first time Strong Enough to Break will be available to the public.

HANSON also released Great Divide, a charity single which is available now as an itunes exclusive, on World AIDS Day. All proceeds will go to HIVSA, an African organization working to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
