HANSON, Hellogoodbye tour walks across U.S. for 'Use Your Sole' dates

Aug 02, 2009 |

Hanson and Hellogoodbye will pound the pavement for a good cause this fall. Each night of the bands' Use Your Sole Tour will open with a mile walk, with proceeds benefitting the fight against poverty and AIDS in Africa.

The co-headline trek begins September 30 at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK, and concludes more than two months later on November 8 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. Other itinerary highlights include shows on October 5 at The Rave Eagles Club in Milwaukee, WI; October 11-12 at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL; October 15 at Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York, NY; October 28 at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA; and November 7 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA.

Presales begin July 23 for members of the official Hanson fan club. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting July 25. Steel Train and Sherwood will fill the tour's opening slots.

Fans can join all four bands on the tour in a mile-long walk prior to each night's performance. The walk is part of the Hanson brother's Take the Walk campaign, which organizes charity walks and collects donations to benefit a variety of international causes.

Along with the Hanson-founded campaign, the tour is sponsored by TOMS Shoes, which has a "one for one" guarantee. For every pair of shoes purchased through the company, a second pair is donated to a child in need. Since its founding in May 2006, the organization has donated more than 150,000 pairs of shoes.

The Hanson brothers -- Isaac, Taylor and Zac -- are currently working on their eighth album overall and fifth studio effort. The as of yet unnamed project is due for release sometime in 2010 and follows their 2007 release "The Walk." The record was a departure from the trio's earlier pop-heavy efforts, favoring socially conscious messages instead, and peaked at No. 56 on the Billboard 200.
