HANSON'S long-awaited Australian tour on the back of sold-out live shows worldwide is coming to Seagulls Club next Wednesday.

After a brief visit last year, playing two sellout acoustic shows, the brothers will return with a full band to perform songs from the acclaimed album Underneath and some older songs on its Down Underneath tour.

Celebrating a recent well-deserved UK Top 10 debut of the single Penny And Me, Hanson looks forward to returning to Australia to deliver its mesmerising live show.

The group has one of the strongest and dedicated fan bases in the world.

Still young, but with years of experience in songwriting and live performances, the Hanson tour is bound to be a sellout in Australia as well.

MTV's Total Request Live and 2DAY FM breakfast show host Kyle Sandilands said Hanson was The Beatles of the '90s for today's kids.

"I remember being on a Manly ferry with thousands of screaming Hanson fans when they came and sang Mmmm Bop," said Kyle.

"They were The Beatles of the '90s as far as the kids were concerned. Now they're all grown up, I'm looking forward to see what they serve up this time."

The Times, on the other hand, said: "Hanson appear to have done the almost impossible - jump from teen poppers to credible rockers."

Even U2's Bono is a fan: "I admire Hanson. Mmmm Bop is one of my favourite songs of all time."

Catch Hanson for an over 18s show in the Stardust Room at Seagulls Club next Wednesday at 7pm, with support band Zinc. Tickets cost $63 or $65 if paid by credit card. To book, call 5536 3433.
