Grown up Hanson

If you're not a radical Hanson fan and got surprised by the concert announcements all around (see the box), you might be asking yourself: "We're where they on the last years?" By phone (and by his wife's side, Natalie, in the car), the lead vocalist Taylor explained where the group were to CAPRICHO. "We've done a lot of things... unfortunately we couldn't play much and go to Brazil", said. "We dedicated ourselves to heaviest things - one of them was to make a new record. After so many fusions between record companies, we've ended up at a rap label. So we had to get off of it
and create our own label [ the 3CG, independent ]. Then, we went out on a little acoustic tour, to give the fans something unique. Now, with all finished, we can play electric all around the world." On this vacation season - the last "true" album was This Time Around, in 2000 - the 3 brothers wrote 80 songs, which only 13 are on the new record, Underneath. "Our
fans are really loyal. They've continued wanting to know what we were doing. We are grateful for that", said Taylor. For him, those years were full of strong experiences outside the music - he got married and had a son, Jordan, who is already 2 years-old. "We have our lives, which goes beyond the music", resumes Taylor. One of the band partners in Underneath is Gregg Alexander - the excentric New Radicals leader, band who got separated at the top of success. Hanson is far from
this type of extreme attitude. "I never thought about giving up. Gregg is extraordinary! I think he wasn't made to be famous. It was simple, he has continued doing music for other people. Maybe someday I'll think: 'I already got all I wanted.'
But this might take a long time." Before hang up, he sent a message to the brazilian fans. "We've passed through all around the world the last months and we always hear
that someone from Brazil flew to another country just to see us, that's why we are more than excited to come back. The energy there is amazing."
