I have seen people walking with children in strollers before and just wanted to get other's opinons on this. I'm going to the KC show and have a baby that will be about 2 1/2 months. I've thought about bringing her on the walk but don't know if it would be safe. I'm also nursing so it might be a problem trying to feed her as well, especially if she gets hungry during the walk.

I would not suggest it, that is far tomany people to be bringing a baby around with out more vaccines. until their 6 months old it's not a good Idea to bring them around large crowds. if the show is in your home town I would suggest seeing if someone could watch her during the duration of the show. it's not a safe place for a newborn. at least thats my opinion. there is no way I would've brought my son to a hanson concert at that age Im not bringing him this time and he's 2. it really isnt a place for really small children. |

I'd be more worried with the speed at which the walk is done. Its a really fast walk and it would be really hard to walk with a child. thats why I'm not bringing my son.
9/26/08 - the most most amazing "Hanson" day ever!!! THANK YOU! MN ST Leader http://minnesotast.webs.com |

I mean if your ONLY taking your child to the walk (in a stroller) its ok ... i wouldnt suggest bringing her to the actual concert tho .... on the last walk i did i saw many ppl with kids and they did not seem to have any problem. I donno how all the walks are obviously but the one I did was honestly fine.

I'm taking my kids on the walk. They're 3 1/2 yrs and 16 mos. I'm bringing a stroller and a sling and we'll be good. Honestly, I think it would be easier to take a 2 month old than an older baby. Feed the baby first and then stick her in a sling or baby carrier and she'll likely sleep the whole time. It's not like the walk is hours long. As for the concert, I wouldn't bring her along. My kids will be snoozing at my best friends house with her hubby watching over them, but it didn't really sound like you were planning to take her along for that part anyhow. ~*~Erin~*~ Mommy of 2, Pastor's Wife, Christian, Hanson Fan, Norwex Consultant. i have seen many people bring their children on the walks, many were small babies as well. i would say go for it and just have someone pick her up when the walk is over (if you can swing it because i know that it is hard to leave your child for hours if you are breast feeding, unless you can pump so whoever is watching her can feed her)...God Luck if you end up taking her and Have fun on the walk!!!

i would be worried about the fact she isnt fully immunized and the fact you dont know if anyone in the walk is sick or is a carrier of a contagious illness. i wouldnt bring a tiny baby hor the tiny baby's health. |

I'm bringing my daughter who just turned one on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin walks but not to shows. I do not see an issue with taking your baby for just the walk as long as the weather is right, etc. I think its a great opportunity to make a difference as a family and a great thing to look back on as your child gets older. My daughter has participated in many music related functions/meet and greets since she was born and never had an issue. But to each their own :)

Don't people tend to push others in an attempt to walk next to Hanson? I hope that people would be careful if someone had a baby in their arms or next to them. Sounds a little scary for kids to me.

Thanks for the advice. I've decided I will probably bring my daughter along to the walk as long as the weather is ok. I have quit nursing so that will make it a little easier.
