October Trip to Africa

My boyfriend is leaving for Africa in October (I was so glad it changed to a month later so he could go see Hanson with me!). He is going there to work on water projects, at his own expense of course. He will be working on a system to move water inland for filtration and distribution. Clean water is such a luxury there, He is very passionate about helping. He has had to raise the funds by himself, which has been pretty difficult, but he is going! I very much admire what he will accomplish. That's my man!
Going to 9/7 & 11/12! So excited! I've taken a wonderful Walk with Hanson! |

that's so awesome! it's really inspiring when other people step up to help. i've worked with invisible children for a few years now, and my group and i are working on raising funds to go there next year :)

We are members of Rotaract International, and he has gotten involved that way. There is an actual non-profit org. running it, but the name has slipped my mind. It is costing him about $3,500 to do the full trip which will be 5 weeks. In our county's Rotaract club there is a hydrologist who has put together the trip with the help of that non-profit. We received a grant to cover the actual costs of the project itself.

Congrats, I'm going in about a week my friend lives in South Africa So shes going to meet me there and meet up with some of her friends and we're gunna see how we can help a little. Im ecited/nervous!!!

JUST AN UPDATE: The trip got pushed back a few months due to funding issues, but everyone is still going. The hydologist will actually be there a full year. My bf wanted to wait until they had everything started on the project which is when he will really be needed.
